    After Glenlith Interiors

    How much could you save?
Unlike a showroom we have no overheads, like constantly updating the current trend, be it "White High Gloss with Solid Surface Worktops" or a "Country Style with Solid Oak Worktops", we don't have to change layout (as most don't, making their showroom stagnant and dated). We have kitchen designers, who will design and produce CAD (computer aided design) so you can get an idea of what your kitchen will look like, we will also show you any door you choose before you commit. Our only overhead is the workshop we use to manufacture your new investment. We regularly attend Industry kitchen shows to find what trend will be next and new energy saving appliances or gadgets, like LED light systems, this enables Glenlith Interiors to stay at the forefront of kitchen fashion .
Glenlith Interiors can almost guarantee to supply &  fit your kitchen for a significant lower price compared to most other kitchen companies, their doors may be perfect, the carcass is usually sub standard with flimsy hardboard at the back.....you will probably know the type.

What can we do for you?

    • Full supply & installation of units, doors, worktops and appliances
    • All Kitchens come with soft close doors & drawers as standard.
    • All carcasses are bespoke, glued and dowelled 18mm inc back section
    • Colour matching carcass
    • Seamless solid surface worktops i.e. Corian, Hi-Macs or Staron
    • Plastering
    • All finishing touches i.e.  Coving & Skirting
    • All kitchen plumbing and electrical work including lighting
    • Installation of all equipment and appliances
    • Gas Safe qualified installers
    • All Tiling wall & floor
    • All waste removed and disposed of with licensed SEPA registered companies

Kitchen Essentials

Kitchens Glasgow

When you have a new kitchen fitted, you’ll want new accessories too. Here are some kitchen essentials, some of which are obvious and others you’ll be less familiar with.

The first on our list is the trusty kettle. They come in a range of colours and styles including those that have colour changing lights inside. For a modern look, some people opt for a stainless steel kettle but these are hard to keep clean compared to their plastic equivalents. If you have hard water and your kettles get full of lime scale, it may be a good idea to purchase a cheaper kettle because you will probably have to replace them more often.

Microwaves are a must for a modern kitchen and they too come in a range of styles. You should pick one that is easy to use and lets you accurately put in your cooking time. After all, microwaves are supposed to make life easier not more complicated. Same goes for your toaster, get one that’s simple but stylish. Just make sure that if you’re a fan of bagels that your toaster will be able to accommodate them or else you may need a grill instead/ as well.

Other handy gadgets for your kitchen in Glasgow include magnetic tin openers, that make opening tins safer and easier, and cheese graters with a built in cheese catcher to eliminate mess. If you enjoy a bit of pepper on your dinner you may also want a pepper grinder that grinds your peppercorns for you.

Glasgow Kitchen Fashion 12/13

Kitchen Fashion Glasgow

If you are looking to redesign your kitchen in Glasgow, you may be interested in the latest bespoke kitchen fashion trends. Last year was all about ‘shabby chic’ and a more traditional, old-fashioned style complete with wooden units. The aim was rustic and homely like a farmhouse kitchen but with the best of modern technology built into it.

This year has seen the rise of a more minimalist style of bespoke kitchen. People are choosing block colours for their units and tiles. Slab fronted high gloss, handle less units and drawers are in fashion. They are practical for small kitchens and family kitchens, especially for those with small children. This is because handleless doors save space and remove hazards such as getting caught or knocking into door handles while you are cooking. The “Remo” in the PWS range is a beautiful contemporary kitchen available in Beige (below centre), Alabaster, Gloss White and Dove Grey (left). This range is available with curved units also.

This year bespoke kitchens in Glasgow have become focused on space saving techniques and storage particularly with regards to drawers and pullouts. Base units have become wider and deeper. Deep drawers with integrated shallow pullouts or built in dividers are part of these base units.

Black and white worktops in Corian, Hi-Macs or Staron are a popular choice, they go with coloured or white units. The new worktop shape has rounded or square edges and a smooth finish, and if solid surface, can be polished to a high gloss. Also breakfast bars are back in fashion with curved edges and shapes to match the worktops. Breakfast bars and stools are a great space saving trick for smaller kitchens as they take up less space than a table and chairs.

If you are thinking about a bespoke kitchen in Glasgow, think about space, storage and slab fronts.
